Lisa Stephenson


Lisa knows how to hit the mark. She looks beyond the obvious, peeling apart the layers by asking the right questions at the right time. She makes the connections, builds the relationships and challenges the status quo, digging deeper and aiming higher.

As the founding Director of Who Am I Projects, Lisa successfully combines credibility, accreditations, skills and experience with an incredible sense of curiosity, intuition and compassion. She’s also a diehard 80’s fan (don’t judge), although she doesn’t mind the occasional 90’s rock (and, naturally, is totally obsessed with Adele).

After starting her career with a Bachelor of Arts in Management Communication and a Certificate IV in Workplace Assessment & Training, Lisa graduated from the renowned Life Coaching Academy. She became driven to combine all three disciplines, guiding and supporting people to be the very best version of themselves, both professionally and personally.

Her early employment history included career roles with some big names in Australia and overseas including Nokia Australia, Optus and Ernst & Young (London). Since starting her own company in 2008 she’s worked as consultant, coach, facilitator, and speaker, and has traversed industries as diverse as telecommunications, health, education, medical and banking. Driven by a passion to challenge and inspire, Lisa has developed and managed a number of programs for clients that have propelled individual performance while also completely transforming their corporate culture.

In particular, she’s delivered:

  • The highly regarded THRIVE talent development experience for the National Australia Bank, in both Australia and Asia, for the last seven years
  • Macquarie Bank’s SHINE program, which focuses on identifying and retaining the best female talent in the organisation, and
  • A highly successful global talent and leadership program for Treasury Wine Estates.

I have had the pleasure of working with Lisa Stephenson for over 8 years, most recently as a senior leader host of NAB’s Thrive, 9-month development program for our most talented people.

As a Thrive host rather than participant, I was also given the opportunity to work closely with Lisa’s coaching team (the wonderful Anna) and to develop my own ‘I am…’ statement. The whole experience was deeply impactful for me personally, and led to some profound personal understanding that I certainly had not expected, particularly for someone with a banking career of over 40 years and even more years of life experience.

Participation in Thrive stands out from almost every other personal development program I have experienced, and is something that I wish I had been given the opportunity to undertake much earlier in my life and career.
